My wife and I have stayed now on two separate occasions, and we have enthusiastically referred family, friends, and passengers. The Chalet itself is rustic, and therefore charming, but is styled with amenities that make your stay comfortable: even luxurious. Margaret and Patti do an admirable job of creating an atmosphere to make your stay memorable, and one you will want to repeat.

Chilled to the bone after one frigid early-morning November flight, the chase crew and I were graciously invited by Ken and Diane to share a pleasantly warm four-course breakfast with the passengers/guests. Check out the following:Muranda Cheese House (Waterloo, NY) We were fortunate to take the owners of Muranda Cheese for an anniversary balloon ride, and the following year we took Tom’s parents to celebrate their own milestone anniversary. We flew each flight from the Murrays’ farm in Waterloo, and after the flights they offered us tastings of their cheese. Not only was the company good, but the cheese was just outstanding. They successfully changed this pilot’s perspective on cheese forever from an everyday staple to grab quickly from the grocery store cooler to something that can be truly delightful! We suggest a visit to their tasting room if you’re in the area; but if you can’t get there in person, feel confident about ordering online. For us, they were very responsive and, of course, the product was exceptional.
